Joseph Gerth Joseph Gerth, a dedicated Lutheran, was born and raised in Dodge County. His career in education began in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, where he taught high school mathematics for six years. He then transitioned to St. Paul Lutheran School, where for seven years, he instructed students in grades 6-8 in subjects ranging from Latin and logic to literature. In 2021, Joseph Gerth took on the role of principal at St. Paul Lutheran School. He is an active participant in the educational community, having presented at prominent conferences such as the Consortium for Classical Lutheran Education (CCLE) Conference, the Lutheran Education Association (LEA) Conference, and Concordia University Chicago. Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Gerth is passionate about reading, lifelong learning, teaching, and grilling. He has been happily married to his wife, Elsa, for seven years, and they are the proud parents of two children, John and Margaret. Mr. Gerth serves as the Lead Teacher of Immanuel Lutheran School and also serves as an administrator of our day school. Nicole Centgraf Ms. Nicole Centgraf teaches full-time at Immanuel, focusing primarily on K-5 Literacy, Latin, and Literature. She also works with our administration and staff coordinating curriculum and ensuring that each of our students are growing in all academic areas. In addition to receiving a bachelor’s degree in Literature with a minor in Philosophy from Wisconsin Lutheran College, Ms. Centgraf’s penchant for languages has led her down many academic avenues: studies in Latin and Biblical Greek, completion of the Albanian Language program at the Critical Languages Institute at ASU, and many years of self-directed studies in explicit and systematic phonics instruction, the classical pedagogical practices of narration, memorization, and recitation, and how to engage even our youngest students in the great books. She is currently working on the creation of an integrated classical literacy curriculum that fits the needs of our mixed-grade classroom. Ms. Centgraf previously taught literature and composition at Preca College in Korça, Albania, and also served as an ESL instructor in Tirana, Albania, for many years. Prior to earning her degree at WLC, she taught Sunday School, ballet, and choreographed a few pieces for community theater. In addition to her work in the field of education, Ms. Centgraf is co-owner of Centgraf Farms, which grows and markets produce to many award-winning restaurants in Milwaukee and sells directly to consumers at various Wisconsin farmer’s markets. Nicole is also the mother of two very bright and sweet children, Albi and Ellie, who are current Immanuel Dayschool students. Ms. Centgraf has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2015. Deborah Tauschek Deborah Tauschek serves as a consultant for Immanuel Lutheran School. Mrs. Tauschek taught full-time at Immanuel in the past, but is currently working on a Ph.D in Education with a focus on the instruction of mathematics via classical pedagogical methods. While she pursues her doctorate, she continues to assist our school as she is able. Mrs. Tauschek began her full-time teaching career as headmaster and teacher at Christ Lutheran Academy, a classical Lutheran school in Kenosha where she served for six years before moving to Texas. In Texas, Debi taught at Faith Lutheran School in Plano, Texas until moving back to Wisconsin in the summer of 2018. Mrs. Tauschek has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside, and a master’s degree in education from Concordia University, Austin, TX. S Mrs. Tauschek is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and has served in our school since the summer of 2020. Tricia Zahner Tricia Zahner serves as the art and music teacher at Immanuel, instructing our day school students on two afternoons each week and also teaching private piano and organ lessons. Mrs. Zahner has a bachelor’s degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN with a dual major in Theater and English. She also had extensive musical training at Bethany including several years of organ instruction culminating in a senior recital. She received 11 years of private piano instruction and has taken voice and violin lessons. One of Tricia's piano teachers could trace her teaching lineage back to J.S. Bach. In college, she took courses in piano pedagogy and music theory. Mrs. Zahner teaches piano lessons to students of Immanuel, homeschool students, and others from the community. She has also taught community music classes for preschool age children. Tricia has sung in mixed and women’s choirs and in various theater productions. Tricia is also a skilled artist and enjoys working with our school students via a number of artistic mediums. Mrs. Zahner has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2010 and has taught in our school since 2013. |
