MISSION PROJECTS Immanuel is involved in mission work in many ways - both locally and overseas. Immanuel makes a point of giving a considerable portion of our annual budget to mission work. In addition to the funds we budget for mission, our loose offering on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve is donated to various mission agencies. Our congregation supports local food banks, and broadcasts our services on local television channels. Lutheran Women's Missionary League: The LWML supports a number of mission projects, including A Place of Refuge which is a crisis pregnancy center in Milwaukee. Lutheran Laymen's League: Immanuel has one of the last active Lutheran Layman's Leaque groups which supports mission work locally and globally. Missions which our congregation currently supports: Lutheran World Relief and Human Care A Place of Refuge The Joint Seminary Fund Lutheran Bible Translators The Lutheran Heritage Foundation Bethesda Lutheran Communities Lutheran Hour Ministries Lutheran Counseling and Family Services Wheat Ridge Ministries Mill Neck School for the Deaf Individual missionaries serving both in the United States and overseas. Lutherans for Life: Every January, our congregation recognizes the work of Lutherans for Life and collects a special offering to be used to benefit pro-life causes.     |
